Researching one's family tree is such great fun and it can be a real challenge especially when one's ancestors from the current generation back to Jacob & Francis Glover were military and never in one place for long. I would swear I ran across the name Pettit in recent research about distant relatives who lived in Rhode Island, Massachusetts and New York State. Could we be distantly related? I wondered. Ha! But by the time I finished your blog I decided it was probably best if I didn't know!
